How to Purchase a Firearm Online

Jul 14th 2021

Is it legal to purchase a gun online?

Unlike popular belief purchasing a firearm online is 100% legal and there are no loopholes as some wish you to believe. All firearms listed online at Tioga Armory will automatically prompt a separate shipping field at checkout; this process takes the guesswork out for the customer. On the checkout page you will be able to search for a dealer closest to you, once you select a dealer the shipping address will update automatically.

Can I have a gun shipped to my house?

Per Federal law all firearms must be shipped to an appropriate firearms dealer. It is at the receiving dealer that the transfer will take place for the customer to receive and then take home their firearm. Prior to the transfer customers should inspect their order for any damages or incorrect product received.

How do I find a FFL?

Most online retailers will have an option to choose a dealer at checkout nearest to them. This option streamlines the process for both the customer and the retailer, however it is always best as a customer to check with the selected receiving FFL that they are accepting outside shipments.

What is a FFL?

FFL stands for Federal Firearms License; anyone conducting business in firearms sales, commercial manufacturing or transfers must be a FFL holder.
